LinkedIn is rolling out a new and improved look to their professional profiles. The profile, the leading online resume, professional profile and digital resume, hasn’t changed much over the years. The picture is now bigger and more prominent. The other major change is that connections, website links, recommendations and twitter links are now listed under a contact information button which can be toggled ON or OFF, bringing the focus to the summary section of your professional profile.
The newly enlarged summary, where you introduce yourself to your reader and tell your career story, is now front and center making the content all the more important. Most people don’t know that your profile can get you to #1 in Google. Think of your profile as a website. With relevant, targeted keyword placement and many connections your business profile can rank on page one of Google for keywords that can grow your small business sales or get you noticed by job recruiters.
