My Background

Since graduating from university in 1992, I have been on every side of the hiring table: applying for jobs, interviewing for jobs, hiring people, and being recruited.

I managed $50M+ business units at AOL, Kraft-Heinz, Bank of New York Mellon, and Aetna. I led teams of 20+, owned P&L, and reported to C-suite executives. I’ve hired hundreds of professionals, and I’ve been recruited by Spencer Stuart, Korn Ferry, and Heidrick & Struggles.

I earned an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh and a Strategic Management certificate from Harvard. I’ve advised LinkedIn and Korn Ferry on executive career positioning. I’ve been featured on ABC TV and in Korn Ferry Advance. I am a Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW).

That experience is why I understand what gets executives and experienced professionals interviewed, and what gets filtered out.

Why I created Klaxos

In 2009, I was Vice President of Communications at the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM). We were at the forefront of digital and social media, expanding awareness for our government relations experts. I realized that optimizing their LinkedIn profiles would increase their visibility, so I had my team professionally optimize the profiles of all key external-facing staff.

It was a pioneering exercise. The impact was massive: more media hits, more CNBC interviews, more connections, and ultimately more influence on Capitol Hill.

That got me thinking: LinkedIn would be the new platform for serious influencers, sales reps, and job seekers.

In 2010 and 2011, word spread and I was writing LinkedIn profiles for colleagues and friends. I realized this could be a business. I launched Klaxos in January 2012.

I added resume writing in December 2013. In late 2015, I added job search coaching, interview coaching, and resume distribution to recruiters, the components of the Get Hired package.

From the beginning, Klaxos has been a global enterprise. My second client ever was from Dubai. I’ve helped world-class leaders from every industry, function, level, and geography.

The most rewarding part? Hearing from clients when they land their next-level job. That’s why I keep working with clients rather than returning to industry.
